Welcome to the site! Proudly brought to you by Highland Geo Solutions: www.highlandgeo.ca. It is clear that the internet has a lot of potential to help inform. The problem as I see it is that there is a huge volume of material out there that is not vetted. LinkedIn has also provided a tool for people to discuss topics with their peers. But it is pretty evident that this functionality was an afterthought (for the free version at least). One quickly gets inundated with discussion notifications; see my previous point about the increasing volume of "information" provided on the internet. That got me thinking... Perhaps there is a need for a site dedicated to the sharing of specific information regarding marine survey software (and soon hardware) that crosses the lines between users, vendors and academics. By the nature of the site design, users will be able to access ratings, discussions, troubleshooting help etc. via topic groupings and search tools.

I hope you all like it and can contribute your knowledge to help inform the community as a whole. I will be updating the site when my other job permits me the time to do so. But it is my wish that you, dear user will continue to visit and add to the site.
